Back in Action~ XD

wooo...it's been so long since i've blogged hehe. In case you're all wondering, UK is great! But the only problem is the currency which I'm still not used to.

Life has been good to me over the weeks, through time I've learned how to cook, how to "really" take care of myself and stuff like that. Thanks alot to Choo and Suh Yi for "taking care" of me the first few weeks. Here, I've learned the meaning of true friendship and I'd like to thank my "brothers" for being there for me in times of need and trouble... cheers XD

Well, the place I'm staying is pretty nice...the only problem is the internet line which sucks so bad I've learned to live without the internet. (I'm actually blogging in the library now lol).

Lectures and lab sessions are pretty much the same as it was in Sedaya only that the lecturers here in Sunderland seem to know more than what they teach. This sem I'm taking 4 modules which are Biotechnology final project, Medical Microbiology, Immunology and *drumroll* Japanese language! Finally I have the chance to take my favorite language for free hehe. Btw, the Japanese language lecturer is pretty funny and cute lol.

Food? hmm... the first few days all we had to eat were pasta, pasta, pasta, and pasta. Over the next few days we progressed to eating bread and now finally, we have rice to eat. We had to go through some trouble buying the ingredients because normally our mothers were the ones doing it. Picking fresh vegetables, meat that were on sale, etc etc is pretty fun. When it comes to cooking, it's very much the same as preparing a science experiment. A little dose of this and that and there you have it, a cooked meal XD

Oh, I was in Newcastle about 2 weeks ago, and it's so much different from Sunderland. It's a very beautiful city and not to mention, St James Park was the first BPL stadium I've visited since I've arrived in the UK. Took lots of pictures and they can be seen in my facebook profile.

Hopefully during the 3 week Xmas holidays I'll be able to visit other major cities in England and not to mention, the awesome stadiums! Old Trafford, Anfield, Emirates, to name a few.

As I was saying earlier, life here is great. Looking forward to each coming day and being thankful for each day that has passed.

To all you people back home in Malaysia, I miss you guys! :D

KL Trip (July 9th 2008) DAY 2

The next day started off with us meeting up in Sungei Wang's Kyros Kebab. Later on we went over to Lot 10 to meet up with Sonia. Had brunch in Dome and stayed there for about 2 hrs to chit chat and reminisce about Day 1 lol.

Next, went to Pavilion to shop before having dinner at Madam Kwan's. Normy, you finally got your craving fufilled aye? lol, he's been raving bout Madam Kwan's (and also Kyros Kebab) since he arrived in KL. Caught a movie after dinner, 'Wanted.' Hmmm...the movie was pretty interesting in the beginning, towards the middle it became so-so and at the end it was like "ughhhh." Angelina Jolie was hot as always, she even (insert spoiler tag here XD) died beautifuly.

After the movie, we all went back to the hotel and it was great of Sonia's bf to drop me home so I could collect my car and then go out again. Pei Yee followed me because I thought I could drop her at the Putra LRT station but the station was already closed when we arrived. So I dropped her home instead before going back to Jalan Alor to have supper with the gang. Lionel joined us and decided to spend the night at the hotel with them. Had fried kuey teow and alot of barley drinks lol.

Lionel then brought the rest of them to some kinda hill along Jalan Ampang. I didn't follow because I had to get up early the next day. Said our goodbyes and called it a day.

I did not partake in Day 3's activities as I had stuff to do and hung out with my uni mates for karaoke.

KL Trip (July 8th 2008) DAY 1

Norman and Calvin both came over to KL for a 3-4 days visit both from Australia and Singapore respectively. The night Normy arrived was the 7th of July and he bunked in at Ling's place in Sunway for a night before going to a hotel in Bukit Bintang the next day.

Day 1:

Met up with Ling and Normy around 3pm in Sungei Wang and shopped around aimlessly looking for random stuff like shampoo, etc etc. Ling forgot to bring his hp charger and Normy's one couldn't work as it was not the right socket type. Had to depend on Calvin who waited for us at the hotel and ended up falling asleep at the lobby(will post a pic of him sleeping when I get the pics). Later on we went up to room 912 where they were staying. Normy tried to plug in a phone charger and ended up blowing a fuse lol(will post pic of charger and plug). To resolve the problem, he called the receptionist and gave them the dumb look saying "I had no idea what happened to the power." After power was restored to the room, we chilled there for awhile and made a move to Sungei Wang----> Lot 10---->Pavilion.

Did some window shopping in Pavilion while waiting for Lionel, Carmen, and Jackson to go for dinner. The plan was to have dinner in Jalan Alor/Changkat. We assumed it would be "THE" Jalan Alor where there were lots of hawker stores and such. Anyway I'll move on to that later. We waited for Lionel's and Jackson's car outside Pavilion. The traffic jam was so amazing we ended up having dinner at around 8pm. Since it was Jackson's birthday, he wanted to eat some kinda Brazilian cuisine that costs almost RM70 per person. What an amazing price. LOL. Anyway I forgot what happened but we ended up eating at this shop(do remember this shop pls) called "The Magnificent Fish & Chips." Yes, it really is magnificent...I don't mean the food, but the price. The cheapest fish is Butter Fish which we have no idea what that is. There were many other types of fish such as parrot fish, silver cod, salmon etc etc. However the range was from RM28-RM68. At the end we all ended up ordering Butter Fish and Chips because it was the only thing we could afford. Jackson and Chloe both ordered something else which I think was salmon and another I forgot. The portion pretty much lives up to its price tag but for some reason it just didn't suit our taste. Ling calls it Rubber Fish because the meat is so hard and thick, lol. After dinner we just sat there and chilled.

The next plan was to go to "Aloha", a club nearby. This was suggested by the "innocent" Chloe because there was some kinda event going on there. Due to the fact that Calvin and I were both in shorts, we had to go back and change. So we divided into 2 cars to the club. Jackson did not want to go as he is working the next day. Ling followed me home and then I changed and drove my car out. Chloe drove the other car with Calvin, Normy, and Pei Yee. Lionel and Carmen both went home. Arrived in Aloha and we opened a bottle of Black Label. Had lots of fun in the club but regrettably we were late and missed the entire event. Not to mention there were no chicks at all(except for Chloe and Pei Yee IMO) lol. Played lots of drinking games and this was the main cause for our downfall. Ling and Normy were the 1st to call it quits when 1 of them started feeling tipsy and the other turning to a tomato lol. Calvin also drank alot till he had tummy ache haha. I continued playing with Chloe and ended up feeling tipsy too. To Chloe(who was an innocent angel lookalike girl-turned-wild party woman) Black Label wasnt enough so she ordered another bucket of beer. She really is damn amazing, we were all feeling tipsy and drunk but she kept on going. At the end we all gave in and she alone finished the remaining glasses of beer.

After the clubbing session, we went to eat nearby at a beef noodle stall along Jalan Alor. This was the highlight of the night where we all did random stuff on the dining table. Well not all as Ling was holding his head down the whole time(I will post a video of us during that supper session at a later time). The only person that finished her meal was Chloe. Despite the fact that she drank the most, she didn't show any signs of being tipsy at all. Pei Yee was also in good shape.

The night/morning ended around 3-4am after I dropped them back at their hotel and then went home.

Day 2 to be updated...

Genting Highlands Trip ~17th April 2008~

The plan started at 6.30am for most of us as we all decided to meet up in KL Sentral at 7.30am and take the bus/cablecar to Genting. We had breakfast at Rasamas and then took the bus at 9.15am before arriving in Genting shortly around 11am if I'm not mistaken...I realised none of us took note on the time of arrival lol. The peeps who took part in this awesome, fun, hot, wet, dizzy, and extreme random weirdness trip was none other than Wai Kit, Zhen Hui, Jen-Sen, Leng Boon, Yoke Wai, Boon Pin, and me. Yes, there were no girls as Yun said she had no money and Grace didn't want to ruin a "all-guy-outing." =.="

The journey there sucked so bad as the air conditioning in the bus was so low, loud oldies were being played at the background, and some really random weirdness by Yoke Wai lol. Anyway, upon arrival, we went straight to the theme park as we all bought the package deal worth rm42 which includes a day-pass for the indoor and outdoor theme parks. The weather was great when we arrived. Wai Kit, Jen-Sen, and Zhen Hui sat on the 1st rollercoaster ride while the other 4 of us sat on what I rate as the ride with the highest thrill factor in the entire park. The "deadly" spinnig cup ride. Don't be fooled by it's physical appearance as it looks like it's only for kids. It works in such a way that a hidden "trap" is layed down awaiting visitors that unluckily take this ride. The mechanism of this ride is that the cups rotate round and round in circles in a group of 3 cups per rotatable floor. In each cup there is a wheel like device where you turn it and the cup turns according the direction you turn. Yes, if you turn the wheel very quickly, the cup spins very quickly too and at the same time the cup is rotating from the bottom. So its a SPIN+ROTATING movement. Boon Pin and I were in 1 cup while Yoke Wai and Leng Boon were on the other. Boon Pin being the hero he always tries to be, spun the cup so fast I felt so sick and dizzy. The other 2 went through the same routine too. By the time our ride ended, The other 3 went on without us to some kinda aeroplane ride just next to the "deadly" cups. We told them we wanted to sit on it too, so they stayed back the 2nd time to accompany us lol. So nice of you guys muahahahhaa.

After that, we went to the "Pirate Ship." This ride swings from end to end like a giant swing. By the time this ride ended, the 4 of us that went for the earlier cup ride looked like we were going to die. The feeling was so horrible. We looked so pale and just had to sit down. I concluded that we were feeling that way was most likely because our heads were still spinning from the cup ride and right now we just added another form of movement which was from side to side which is directly in contrast with a circular movement. The funniest thing was that Zhen Hui felt sick too after the Pirate Ship. But he was never on the cup ride, so why he felt sick is still a mystery haha. He blames it on the weather by saying that suddenly so hot, then so cold, then so hot. His quote during that time was, "diuuuuuu, the weather lah, so hot then so cold. Shit" LOL XD

We moved on to the "Corkscrew" which is a rollercoaster ride. The 5 of us were still trying to recover from the earlier nightmare but Jen-Sen and Wai Kit were already ready to sit on this ride. Yoke Wai and Leng Boon tagged along with them and the 4 of them went for the ride. The remaining 3 of us just sat there talking and "spamming" on sour sweets lol. After they finished the ride, Jen-Sen and Wai Kit went to the ride where they send you up really high before dropping you down. The 5 of us stayed back and Leng Boon, Yoke Wai, for the second time together with me and Boon Pin went to sit on the corkscrew. Zhen Hui was still "dying" there so he stayed back and try to recover. After the corkscrew ride, the weather suddenly became so bad and it rained damn heavily. Jen-Sen and Wai Kit couldn't get to sit on that "something shot" ride because the whole theme park was closed due to weather conditions. Yoke Wai went on to annoy us with his "I told you it will rain lah, where can believe the weather forecast wan, always cheat people" complaints. XD

We went to KFC to eat and had a "talk-cock session." The whole time we were talking about totally random stuff like the 3 Kingdoms story, DragonBall -.- , and other stuff. After that we went to sit on the bumpercar ride. Just before the ride, we had a quick briefing and our plan was to gangbang Yoke Wai. It was really funny because we used the terms from soccer and the movie we watched in 1U which was Three Kingdoms. Terms like "you take the flank, Zhen Hui @ Zhi Long you be the vanguard, the rest of you circle the sides to build momentum before you bang the target." lol. Boon Pin was really excited and wanted to set the plan in motion already. So according to plan, we picked on Yoke Wai and kept on banging him according to our team talk and formation. While I was picking up momentum to bang Yoke Wai, a chick was in front of me and I decided to drift away from my mission and bang her car. The rest of the guys saw what I did and decided to punish me by turning on me and charged at me instead =.=' LOL it was the most fun ride and experience.

After that, we went back out for fresh air because it was only drizzling then. We noticed that the Pirate Haunted House was still open. Now that we were desperately to make the theme park tickets worth, we decided to go for this. The car used for this ride can fit a maximum of only 2 people. To show that we had balls we chose to go with 1 person a car. However that Yoke Wai damn scared. LOL. He kept on insisting he wanted to sit with anyone of us. We thought it must be because he never went for this ride before so he doesn't know what to expect. We forced him to go on the car alone. He had no choice then so he had to do it. After the ride, he was like going around saying, "not scary at all also, how come last time abit more scary wan?" I straight away repelled his statement by saying, "eh I thought you never sit before that's why you so scared? So you actually sat before is it? Then why you so scared wor?" haha, I forgot what was his response after that :D

We initially booked the 8.30pm bus ride down to KL but we decided to go down earlier. Unfortunately, there was no way we could get an earlier bus so we were kinda stranded at the cable car station. So we had another talk-cock session. This time the starring was Yoke Wai. He told us some really crazy shit stories. Till now I am still shocked at the story haha! Most amazing story I ever heard in years! Well, we finally got 7 seats on the 7.15pm bus and then went down to KL Sentral and had dinner at The Chicken Rice shop. Jen-Sen and Wai Kit went home 1st followed by the 5 of us. Thanks again to Boo Pin for the ride home, sorry to trouble you man. Hehe.

Right now the next trip/plan we're looking forward to is Karaoke Session next week! Let's make it happen people!

Once again, thanks for the memories guys. Had lots of fun lol.

Exams are finally over!

My exams have finally ended a few days ago. So my time at UCSI has finally come to and end unless I fail a subject and having to retake it again next semester...lol. So how did my exams go? I'd say it wasn't too bad. Still do-able hehe.

The last paper which was Microbial Biotechnology ended on the 15th of April 2007. Zhen Hui, Jen-Sen, Leng Boon, Boon pin, and I decided to go to 1Utama and watch the movie "Three Kingdoms". The journey to 1Utama that day was terrible. Our initial plan was to go to Yoke Wai's place and park our cars there and taking only 1 car over to 1Utama. Zhen Hui and Jen-Sen were in the 1st car, I was behind them, Leng Boon behind me, and lastly Boon pin. Suddenly it rained damn heavily with thunderstorms. At the UM turn-off junction, Zhen Hui was on the left lane and suddenly signalled to the right and changed lane right before the traffic light. I followed behind him and suddenly the traffic light became red and Zhen Hui hit the emergancy brake causing me to also suddenly brake and yea, the other 2 behind me had to make emergancy stops too. It was so sudden I nearly thought we made a 4-car collision! The front of my car was breathing down Zhen Hui's Myvi back and Leng Boon barely missed my rear bumper while Boon Pin narrowly missed Leng Boon's rear by almost an inch. It was damn scary lol.

Since it rained so heavily, we decided to just go straight to 1U in all 4 cars and then call Yoke Wai and Grace to meet us there. The rest of us had A&W for dinner before meeting the other 2. The movie was great and it revived my interest in the story of the Three Kingdoms again and of cause, to play Dynasty Warriors from scratch lol. Awesome movie, I'd rate it 4/5 for action. However, if you're a hardcore historian then the movie might be a little disappointing as it does not really follow the exact series of events based on the battle between the Wei and Shu forces.

After the movie, we went to Murni for supper before heading home. During that yum cha session, Yoke Wai suggested we go to Genting Highlands for a day trip. So over the next day, we did some serious planning to ensure that the trip would go on smoothly. The ironic part was that the person who suggested this trip barely did any planning and was complaining most of the time like the weather, bla bla bla~ Anyways we had a great time on the last day of the exam and were looking forward to the Genting trip on the 17th of April. XD

My "short" CNY holiday

This year like every other year, I celebrated CNY back home in Kay-Kay. As stated in my earlier post, on the eve of CNY, I had a reunion dinner with my family. The next day, I went to visit Ling's place and then he brought me to his cousin, Alfred's place. We played prawn-crab before going over to another friend's place. Jeremy invited us to his open house. Caught up with Calv, Oliver, Maxi and many more old faces. It was a great gathering. All the best in your new job Jer!

At night I had a simple open house too. Lots of relatives and friends came. Casey then asked me out for a drink with some of the ClickStartPlay members who were bored. I was introduced to a new term "chong." LOL. Anyways, it was great to meet up with them after HobbyCon 2007. Later on, Casey came over to my place and we had a great time talking about the good old days. Before we knew it, we actually talked for almost 3 hours haha. If you're reading this Casey, its always good to reminisce about the past!

I spent most of my remaining CNY with my relatives. Hardly had time to meet up with the gang. Is it me or CNY holidays are getting shorter? hmm... Anyway, I had a call from Jace and Wan Ling. It's good to know that they are doing well in UK. It's even better to know that I'll be joining them soon! hehe.

On the day before I went back to KL, I went out with Kelvin, small Chong, Rieb, Ling, Calv, and Jer to warisan for lunch and some shopping. Met up with Bao Bao and Mary after that. Ended the day with a movie gathering together with ClickStartPlay members. It was penman's first outing with us. We watched CJ7 and it was an awesome movie. I have to admit the plot is weak, but there was enough entertainment to cover up the weak plot. After the movie, we went for a drink at Salim 2. As usual, every CSP meeting ends up as a NDS and PSP outing. This time I took part but I got my a$$ whooped by Toyboy in Tekken.

Sadly, I'm back in KL already. Hope to see you guys soon again! Take care, and God bless! Gong Xi Fa Chai to those I've forgotten to wish!

CNY Reunion Dinner!

I arrived back in Kay-Kay last night and it's freakin' hot here. Anyway, it's great to be back home with my family and friends. I asked Ling the other day about any open houses and its sad to know that Bertez isn't coming back for CNY and there's no open house at his place. Damn, what about the ha kung lao hai?? XD

I'm minutes away from my CNY reunion dinner and here I am blogging. Below is a rough description of what the reunion dinner is. Its taken from http://wikipedia.org/

At Chinese New Year a reunion dinner is held on New Year's Eve where members of the family, near and far, get together for celebration. The New Year's Eve dinner is very large and traditionally includes chicken. Fish (魚, yú) is included, but not eaten up completely (and the remaining stored overnight), as the Chinese phrase 年年有魚/餘; (nián nián yǒu yú, or "every year there is fish/leftover") is a homophone for phrases which could mean "be blessed every year" or "have profit every year", since "yú" is also the pronunciation for "surplus". A type of black hair-like algae, pronounced "fat choy" in Cantonese, is also featured in many dishes since its name sounds similar to "prosperity".

I'll be going back to KL on the 11th of Feb. I was told last week that I'll be having a pharmacology test on the 12th. So I booked my ticket as soon as I got home hearing the news. HOWEVER, the next day...the lecturer canceled the test and postponed it to a further date. If only I knew, I wouldn't have booked my ticket so early...haih~

Anyway, I hope to do whatever I can do in these few days in Kay-Kay. A 6 day trip only...hmmm, time is really of the essence.

Alrites, it's time for my family reunion dinner, will blog more as soon as I have the chance.

p/s: could this be my last reunion dinner in kk until the next few years?
